Ten million reasons to sell this beauty

THE owner of this $10 million mansion is reluctant to sell his pride and joy, but as its builder he cannot wait to move on to his next project.

Gold Coast owner/builder Gary Brewster has just put the six-month-old Sovereign Islands home on the market and, with its rare 65m of water frontage, built-in trampoline and pool bar, he says its “a bargain”.

“Being a builder things get stale — I can’t wait to move on to the next project,” Mr Brewster said.

“I started with small houses and just grew from there. Each time I build another house I think what was the last house missing.”

He said he thought of every luxury when planning and building the Westminster Court home.

A Crestron automative system which is controlled via an iPad allows him to control nearly every electrical item in the house.

The 2140sq m concrete home, built over two blocks, features seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a pool bar, 25m lap pool, large pontoon, 750sq m basement, wine cellar, playground, two theatres, a bridge joining the two upper levels of the house, motor home parking and self-contained granny flat.

And if you want the furniture, it can be included.

“I priced it realistic,” Mr Brewster said. “You can’t put ridiculous prices on a house these days. Everyone is looking for a bargain.”

He said his wife Lucy managed all the interior designing of the home.

Selling agent Amir Mian said the property was unique because it boasted the widest view of the Broadwater on Sovereign Islands.

He said the house was on the calmer side of the Broadwater, making it a boat-owner’s heaven.

Mr Brewster said the secret to his success had been about being smart with his money.

“I go from one house to another and save,” he said. “I spend my money wisely and pump it into the next project.”
